Who are College closures good for?

Living in the dorms and having a snow day was awesome. Everyone was stuck inside, in the same building as you. But in reality, it was not that hard to walk to class, about five minutes away. Off campus, snow days are the worst. If you are fortune enough to live on a street that is plowed, you get stuck in because the snow gets pilled up right behind your car. If you live on a street that doesn’t get plowed, then there are probably enough idiots stuck in the street to make it impossible for you to go anywhere. All day yesterday, I was alone in my house. My cold house. Not that I could have gone anywhere even if I dug out my car and plowed my street. My car probably wouldn’t have turned on because of the cold anyway. All of this is made worse by the fact that I haven’t been able to get to my fiancé in three days, and she doesn’t have video games to occupy her. Needless to say, we are both cranky.

All of this reinforces the idea that moving to a warmer climate is good. Sorry mom.

Carpe Deim… and be awesome to each other.
